Not the original gas-lit “Big Lamp” and drinking fountain of 1881. It was damaged and removed in 1951. This replica, at the Market Place end of High Street (also the site of the original) was erected in 1990. A photograph of the first version (in its setting) can be seen in “A Tour of East Antrim” by Doreen Corcoran, Friar’s Bush Press - 1990.
