Elveden crossroads

This is the infamous crossroads where the A11 is crossed by the B1106, scene of many fatal accidents until the traffic lights were installed and the secondary road re-aligned. Nowadays it tends to be a bottleneck, with holiday traffic often tailing back as far as Barton Mills. Indeed, the section from the crossroads back to the Elveden War Memorial, a distance of two miles, is still the scene of a number of accidents, mainly brought about by driver frustration. There is a strong campaign to dual this section of the A11.
