Footbridge in Galashiels over the former Waverley railway line

The Waverley line ran from Carlisle to Edinburgh and was closed on 6th January 1969. The line through Galashiels has been converted into a footpath but plans are underway for a possible reopening of the line between Edinburgh and Tweedbank near Galashiels around 2011.
