The gate at the lower-right corner was included as an indication that the photograph was taken from the track leading from Cameron Muir to Finnich Toll. The Campsie Hills make up the right-hand half of the skyline, and, as in Image, the horn of Dumgoyne (Image) is prominent on the right. The more distant hills visible on the left-hand side of the photograph are the Fintry Hills. The woodland on the far side of the field lies on both sides of the Carnock Burn. In the middle distance, signs of another shallow valley can be seen near the centre of the photograph; as is represented on the 1:25000 map, this is the course of another burn that feeds into the Carnock Burn.
