Plastics and cartons are recycled in the shadow of the incinerator. These are bundled and stacked up ready for export for recycling as packaging. Ironically Wolverhampton now has to import waste destined for landfill from neighbouring boroughs to meet the contracted waste required to feed the incinerator.
