On the eastern side of Caerphilly Road, opposite the existing hospital http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2037223 work is progressing on Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr, the new Local General Hospital. Completion is planned for the summer of 2011. A high-tech Project Viewing Point is available for the public to observe work in progress. Between a potted plant and a cloudscape painting, two black arrows points inwards on a rectangular white notice towards two eye-sized holes cut in the fence.
