The newish concrete road in the foreground serves a few farms and the travellers' site beyond it. The site, now named Calcutt Park, has been recommended for a temporary planning permission lasting for two years. As is often the case with sites like this, it was established first and planning permission sought afterwards. The history of the site and the planning issues are set out in the planning officer's report to the local planning authority in this pdf http://cms.wiltshire.gov.uk/%28S%28wm5gga55b130f045qoanjja5%29%29/mgConvert2PDF.aspx?ID=3984 Update 17 January 2012: The permission has now been made permanent http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-16599489
