Former Home For Destitute Children

The former home for destitute children at the corner of St Andrew’s Square and James Morrison Street was built in 1875. The Original specifications included provision for a swimming pool and gymnasium. It was to provide accommodation for 160 children and 40 “virtuous women of reduced means”. The former home was converted to flats in 2001 and is listed at Category B.
