View southwards, towards Paddock Wood; ex-South Eastern & Chatham Paddock Wood - Maidstone - Strood (Medway Valley) line. A freight train approaches, headed by a Class N 2-6-0, while a Class H 0-4-4T stands in the bay at the left with a train for Tonbridge via Paddock Wood. At the time of this photograph, the Medway Valley line had to wait another four years, until 18/6/62, before the Third-Rail extended to Paddock Wood.
