Menai Suspension Bridge / Pont y Borth

When originally built in 1826, the Menai Suspension Bridge had 4 wrought iron chains. There were 2 additional chains in the centre, between the carriageways. In 1940, the bridge was rebuilt with 2 steel chains and the deck was replaced.
