Altishane Townland is to the north. A George Buchanan left Scotland in 1674 and landed at Bready. He had contacts in Altishahane townland - they were either Lowry or Buchanan. At that time Lowry owned the land. His descendants later became the Earl of Belmore and built Castle Coole in County Fermanagh. Lowry married a Mary Buchanan in that townland.
