This church closed, in November, 2007, for health and safety reasons. The tower and east wing of the church had been found to be in a dangerous, precarious and dilapidated state Such was the extent of erosion and deterioration of the stonework of the tower that the insurers, deemed that it a could pose very real danger to the public and indicated that Public Liability Insurance cover would have to be withdrawn. http://www.trurochurches.org.uk/stpaulnew.htm for more information.
