Archaeological dig at Hightown

An archaeological test pit dug by Liverpool Museums in advance of possible future work to improve the sea defences in front of the sailing club. Four pits were dug and these revealed a peaty organic horizon (~0.5m) lying below the sandy surface layer (~20cm).
