Regency villas in Leam Terrace constructed between 1828 and 1836. In the foreground is a cast iron decorated column looking like the base of a lamp standard but serving the more mundane purpose of sewer gas exhaust pipe. These were installed to prevent the build up of dangerous gases in the sewers below. One of two in the Terrace, both listed. The Victorian post box behind is the new kid on the block.
