This narrow and rather unappealing passageway runs from Gaprigg Court, above Battle Hill in the centre of Hexham, uphill for 600 metres. Sandwiched between Eastgate and Elvaston Road, with only three openings in its entire length, it eventually emerges onto Dipton Mill Road. Here in the upper part, there is no lighting, making the passage even less attractive.
