Constructed and opened as "Portland Road" in 1863, Great Portland Street is one of the oldest tube stations on the tube network. It was given its present name on 1 March 1917 (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Portland_Street_tube_station ). View taken looking northwest from Bolsover Street.
