The National Grid doesn't extend to these parts, and dwellings are reliant on private sources of electricity. The diesel generator is the most usual choice (expensive to buy, with running-costs subject to the vaguaries of the oil-market): here supplemented by a wind-turbine (costly to install, but thereafter cheap and efficient).
