The lane turns right at the corner ahead, but the parish boundary (which has followed the line of the lane up to this point), continues straight on across the field. The 1887 First edition of the OS for this area shows a field boundary and track on this alignment, suggesting that the lane may have also carried on in this direction at sometime - maybe before the coming of the railway, the line of which can be seen in the background (it is now the Greenway cycle and footpath).
