A Homebase owl

This dummy owl is positioned at a corner of the roof of the Homebase store at Hawick. The idea is to frighten off birds such as seagulls and prevent them from nesting on the roof. I saw an amusing picture in a newspaper today, where a dummy owl had been placed on a building to deter seagulls, but it wasn't working, as a gull was standing on the owl's head.
