The Grange Road side of the Newburn Hotel taken from the path at the rear of Image close to the site of the former Newburn Railway Station. The station on the Scotswood, Newburn and Wylam Railway opened in 1876, closed to passengers in 1958 and entirely closed in 1965 http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/n/newburn/index.shtml http://pastscape.english-heritage.org.uk/hob.aspx?hob_id=506095# The line is now part of the Hadrian's Way Cycle Path.
