The name of the field according to the 1840 tithe map. Whether the hedgerow in the distance once continued up to the point where the photographer is standing is conjectural given the name of the field that indicates former common land, however, both the Firle-Selmeston parish boundary still runs along it as does the boundary between Wealden and Lewes district councils.
