A picture palace built shortly before the Great War in a visually striking style anticipating later art deco cinema architecture. It opened for business on 11th March 1912. After decades of dereliction it has been recently restored and revitalised. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippodrome_Cinema,_Bo'ness
