A spokeshorse said "We're not daft enough to eat that stuff!". Note the sewer manholes, raised half a metre above the ground so that they don't get grassed over or submerged when the river floods. There was a small sewage works off Esholt Lane, but I expect the flow is pumped to the maon Esholt works now.
