Although originally built in 1892, it was repositioned following the pedestrianisation of the surrounding area. The bandstand was constructed by Walter Macfarlane & Co, at their Saracen Foundry in Glasgow. In 1978 it was renovated with funds raised by the Horsham Society and council funding. Some years later, in 1992, it was repainted in its original colour scheme, following the discovery of the 1892 design in the museum archives. During the summer months there are performanes here by different bands.
