Since the present Queen is the first Elizabeth to have ruled over Scotland, most letter boxes in Scotland omit the offending 'II' numeral after the ER. This 'ER' box, near the south end of the suspension bridge in Pitlochry, does however carry a numeral, 'VII' referring to King Edward VII.
