In the foreground can be seen the White Swan public house and shops lining the northern side of Market Place. Behind this can be seen the remains of the Castle, on the left, and then the buildings lining both sides of Earsham Street. Behind Earsham Street can be seen the roofs of the buildings making up Clays printing works, which is one of the largest book producing plants in Europe. Particularly prominent is the new distribution warehouse, which is the taller, elongated, building to the right. To the right of the warehouse can be seen the boiler house chimney and beside this is the works' water tower. To the right of this the buildings lining Broad Street can be made out. In the background can be seen the land rising up on the Norfolk side of the River Waveney, which is known as Bath Hills.
