Thickthorn was a large house that until recently stood in its own grounds. Thickthorn Close was once the approach road to the house. The road was developed with mainly bungalows in the 1960's and in the last ten years Thickthorne House was sold off as a nursing home and pretentiously renamed Kenilworth Manor Nursing Home . The grounds immediately surrounding the house were also developed at the same time. The house is just visible at the far end of the road.
