This water-house was built by one of Speyside Cooperage's employees in 1996. Apparently, in 1995 there was a water shortage due to an unusually dry summer.A Water Diviner was called in and after much divining, a signal was found. Boring to a depth of 55 metres through bedrock, water was eventually found. The rate at which the water flows beneath is likened to a river the size of the Spey and runs in a north-westerly direction. The water-house stands on the spot where the boring took place.
