Mining bees are very hairy bees and are similar to bumble and carder bees though slimmer with shorter hairs. The genus varies in size from 4mm to 16mm. Telling the various species apart is not an easy task and unless advised as to the specific species this will have to remain a 'sp.' This individual is feeding on a garden sedum flower.
