Grade I listed building designed in 1936 by the influential German architect Walter Gropius http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Gropius , founder of the Bauhaus school http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bauhaus , and his English collaborator, Maxwell Fry. The building was commissioned by Henry Morris http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Morris_(education) the imaginative chief education officer of Cambridgeshire who had a vision of lifelong education in the community, and developed the village college concept. Between 1927 and 1940 he secured the building of four such schools, each with a wing dedicated to adult education. The college has an International Sixth Form where students can study for the International Baccalaureate diploma.
