After purchasing the freehold of this property from Enterprise Inns, the Titanic Brewery put up this banner to announce that the premises would re-open as a pub, which was what it used to be. The pub, with the revived name of The Sun Inn, was due to open on the 22nd July 2010. The red paint has also been replaced by cream. The Titanic Brewery was founded in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent in 1985, and now brews 1.7 million pints of ale every year. As well as supplying many independent outlets, the brewery already had 4 pubs of its own prior to purchasing 7 Litchfield Road. The brewery is named as a tribute to Edward Smith, the Captain of the ill-fated Titanic ocean liner. He was born in Stoke-on-Trent. Unlike the liner, the brewery has been a resounding success.
