This is Stafford's only surviving working cinema. The nearby Picture House having been converted to a pub! The Apollo is relatively small and has five screens. It belongs to Apollo Cinemas Limited, who claim to be the UK's largest independent cinema chain, which isn't as impressive as it sounds, as they have just 13 cinemas. However the one at Stafford does get to screen most of the blockbuster films. The cinema now has the distinction of being the oldest working cinema in Staffordshire, having been showing films for over 60 years. Image
