View NE, towards Preston, Blackburn etc.; ex-Lancashire & Yorkshire, Liverpool (Exchange) - Preston, Blackburn etc. main line, junction with Manchester - Wigan - Southport line. Passenger services over the south-west loop with the Southport line ceased from 5/3/62, goods traffic over the west-north loop in 6/69; both loops were probably taken up by 6/82. The train is the 15.15 Windermere to Liverpool (Exchange), headed by No. 44733, an LMS Class 5 4-6-0.
