Archetypal northern industrial town scenery - terraced houses with a textile mill looming in the background. The elements of this photo that show that it is from the modern era are a) the factory chimney has been shortened -it would have had a decorative cap, b) the lack of chimney pots on the housing and c) the speed hump on the road. Despite the serried ranks of terraced houses, this road predates the urbanisation of the area.
