Ahead the A48 crosses the railway line of the heritage Dean Forest Railway. The barriers are in place for the traverse of a passenger service from Lydney Junction, hauled by two former Great Western Railway locomotives. In front is 0-4-2T locomotive 1450 and behind is 4-4-0 locomotive 3717 City of Truro (numbered 3440 when built in 1903 ; renumbered in 1912).
