View westward; ex-North British (Forth & Clyde Junction section), (Glasgow via Kilsyth and Balloch - Stirling line, junction of branch to Aberfoyle. This station was closed when the Glasgow - Aberfoyle services ceased on 1/10/51 (goods from Gartness until 5/10/59), although passenger services Balloch - Stirling had ceased on 1/10/34. Goods ceased Stirling - Buchlyvie 5/10/57, on to Balloch in stages to 9/4/65, which explains why shunting was going on when I took this photograph in 1961.
