The footpath through the fields leads down to the River Erewash, which forms the county boundary of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. A green footpath sign that marks the junction with a path that leads off to the left up Brinsley Hill, can just be seen in the tree-line, slightly to the left of centre of the image.
