View eastward, towards Derby etc. and Leicester; ex- Midland trunk lines out of Birmingham to Water Orton, Tamworth, Burton-on-Trent, and to Leicester via Nuneaton. This was an extremely busy section, with constant freight traffic; a local working is seen on the Up Slow, headed by a 4F 0-6-0 (tender-first). On the left is the great Fort Dunlop Factory and its sidings. The station was used only on Race Days, the Racecourse being over on the right, and closed 28/6/65. All is now obscured under the M6 Motorway.
