This is for a bridleway from Burnley Road up to Great Rock via Higher Eastwood. It is surprising that it is still open as there is an alternative route via a surfaced road, Eastwood Lane, which goes under a railway bridge after leaving the main road. I have been informed that this used to be the road up to Higher Eastwood and also Eastwood railway station. The 1:2500 map of 1963 confirms this, showing that the bridge under the railway only gave access to the lower level of Eastwood Dye Works. The road is called Eastwood Lane.
