The constant heavy traffic and the narrowness of the A499 as it passes through the village pose serious problems when it comes to resurfacing the road. Just putting up temporary traffic lights is not sufficient. For the safety of both workmen and drivers a convoy system has to be adopted. The blue helmeted gentleman on the quad bike provides convoy escort through the village. In addition the B4354 east of the crossroads has been shut to all traffic.
