View southward; Nunhead (right) - Lewisham (left) Loop line (since 7/7/29). Brockley Lane station was on the Nunhead - Greenwich Park branch of the South Eastern & Chatham line and was closed to passengers with the branch service on 1/1/17, but the Goods station (slightly to the west) remained until 4/5/70. The Nunhead - Lewisham section of the line was renovated in 1929, to provide a route, principally for freight traffic for Hither Green from Blackfriars Bridge, which by-passed London Bridge. The photograph is at the junction of Geoffrey Road and Brockley Road.
