Established 1790 but now for sale, perhaps not having survived the closure of the post office. The Crown Inn behind was also having a rough time, with wooden buttresses against its front wall, however all seems to be well in 2010 for both shop and pub: http://elfordvillage.co.uk/default.aspx.
