Now a peaceful guest house, once the scene of secret operations by SOE at the outbreak of World War ll. Foreign nationals were trained here for missions in occupied Europe. Techniques of sabotage and assassination were taught at Garramore and in similar secret locations across Morar. Gavin Maxwell - author and naturalist - assisted with small arms training. There is a new memorial (dedicated by the Pope) in nearby Arisaig to mark the key contribution of Czech and Slovak agents to the British war effort.
