Sad, Grade II* listed ruin of the great Jacobean house probably by John Smythson for Thomas Hewett c1615, altered c1700, partly gutted and demolished in the early 19th century. It was surrounded by spectacular terraced gardens, water cascades, pleasure grounds and parkland with a great deer herd.
