A typical street scene at one of Central Glasgow's principal intersections, in the pouring rain. Just off to the left is the entrance to the ex-Caledonian Station, which was the junction on the Central Low Level Lines (now Argyle Lines) of the line from Airdrie and Coatbridge via Carmyle with that from Rutherglen, going west via Central Low Level to Balloch and Possil. The whole system was closed on 5/10/64, but was revived again (electrified) on 5/11/79!
