A plantation that runs alongside the drive to Laughton Park Farm. The land here was once part of Halland Park that was enclosed when the Pelham family moved their family seat to Stanmer near Brighton which resukted in the demolition of Halland Park mansion and the enclosure of the former grounds. The wood itself is not marked on the 1815 OS map though it appears nameless on the 1838 tithe map and with its current name by 1878.
