Taskers Lodge was built in 1836 by Robert Tasker the founder of the world famous Waterloo Iron Works. It was built as the entrance to his private house, the left hand side of the lodge was used as a school house for his workers children and the right hand side was used as the accommodation for the school mistress and her husband.
