The church of St Mary Magdalen > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1895852 is situated on the Sandringham Estate and regularly used for worship by the Royal Family and Estate staff. As we see it today, the building dates mainly from the 16th century. It is considered by many to be one of the finest carstone buildings in existence and contains a number of memorials to members and relations of the Royal Family from Queen Victoria onwards. The silver altar, reredos > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1895896 and pulpit > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1895899 were presented to Queen Alexandra by the American Rodman Wanamaker as a tribute to King Edward VII. A large Greek immersion font > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1895881 dating from the 9th century can be seen outside by the tower west wall.
