Another view of Image, with the lane to Quince Cross on the right. The cross, a single piece of granite, is thought to be C15 http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-96521-hillerton-cross-bow , with more details at http://magic.defra.gov.uk/rsm/28621.pdf : "This cross is mentioned in at least two medieval documents. In the first charter written in AD 739 it is described as a landmark in the boundary of Cridie, whilst in the second, dating to around AD 1100 it is described as the site of Haelre Dune in the boundary of Creedy Land." This obviously refers to a previous cross at the same site.
