Entering Bentley from the east

This road was once the main road between Alton and Farnham before Bentley village was by-passed to the south. The name Bentley means "grassy clearing in the wood" - the remains of Alice Holt Forest lie south-east of Bentley. http://www.bentleyvillage.com/homepage.htm
